We are pleased to bring you our line of extreme wild berry jams. We call them “extreme” because our jams are made with whole wild berries kettle cooked slowly to the proper concentration and consistency with a minimum of added sugars and pectin. As a result, our jams are deeper in rich, berry flavor and higher in nutrition. Most of our jams contain Alaska wildflower honey as part of the sweetener. Our delicious Mixed Berry Fruit Spread contains only pear concentrate as sweetener, and may be appropriate for use by people with diabetes and other sugar sensitivities.

The high nutritional value of berries is well-documented. Berries, and especially blueberries and lingonberries (low bush cranberries), are at the very top of the list of foods with high antioxidant properties. Antioxidants are disease-fighting compounds that help increase the body’s immune function and protect against cancer, heart disease, and high cholesterol, among other conditions and diseases. The farther north these berries grow, the higher the nutritional value. Wild Alaskan lingonberries, blueberries, and salmonberries - growing far from sources of air and water pollution - are especially prized. The Dr. Oz Show did a spot on lingonberries on October 5th. They mentioned the health benefits above, and called them a Scandinavian berry ... we know better! Enjoy our wonderful Alaskan lingonberries, also found in our Low Bush Cranberry Sauce - perfect as a poultry and meat sauce!

What a better way to take care of your health than to eat delicious and nutritious foods!

You can purchase a sampler of all four jams in our Alaska Wild Harvest Jam Crate. Our wild harvest jams are included in most of our gift baskets and crates.

Wild Blueberry JamWild Blueberry Jam
Our wild blueberry jam contains 60% berries, sugar, Alaska wildflower honey, lemon juice, orange peel, and citric acid. Only Pomona's low sugar pectin is used sparingly in this jam. Nutritious, deep and flavorful. Available in 3.7 oz and 6.3 oz jar.

Wild Salmonberry JamWild Salmonberry Jam
Salmonberries, related to raspberries, are found in coastal Alaska and Canada. Our delicious jam contains 50% berries, sugar, wildflower honey, lemon juice, Pomona's pectin, calcium, and citric acid. Pectin is necessary for salmonberry to gel, but we use a low-sugar pectin so that we can still keep the proportion of sugars down. It does contains seeds, though we have filtered out approximately 2/3 of them. This jam is unusual and delicious and, as salmonberries are highly valued by Alaskans, currently our best-selling jam. Our salmonberries are picked primarily in the wilds of Kodiak Island, off Alaska's southern shore. Available in 3.7 and 6.3 ounce jars.

Wild Lingonberry JamWild Lingonberry Jam
Lingonberries, or low-bush cranberries, are tart, intensely flavorful, and nutritious. They are reported to be 30% higher in anti-oxidants than blueberries, with potential benefits for digestive ailments, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, infections, and even cancer. They are well known in Scandinavian countries as "lingonberries" and better known in Alaska as "low bush cranberries". They grow very low to the ground and in good berry years carpet the high tundra and forest floors in many parts of Alaska and Canada. Our jam contains 60% lingonberries, sugar, Alaska wildflower honey, and a bit of orange peel. No pectin in this jam, as lingonberries have enough natural pectin. Available in 3.7 oz and 6.3 oz jars. Note that our Low Bush Cranberry Sauce is also made with lingonberries and comes in a 9 oz. jar.
